What is the best camping blanket for winter?
When tackling winter temperatures in a campervan, insulation type is crucial. Down-filled options, such as the Horizon Hound GR-20, offer superior warmth and packability, trapping body heat effectively even when the van's heating is turned off. However, synthetic options like the Campo Libre Wanda are also highly rated by owners for performing well in damp conditions, where down might lose its loft. Ultimately, the best winter blanket combines a windproof or water-resistant outer shell with high-quality insulation, ensuring you stay cosy regardless of the British weather outside.

Good shout on the blankets, always trying to keep the damp out of my old LDV Convoy. That Proglobe one for nineteen quid looks cracking, honestly. My whole van build budget is practically nineteen quid, mind you! Always appreciate it when you lot properly look at owner reviews, not just some lab test. Helps a fella like me know it'll actually keep me warm.
Chilly nights in the Vivaro are literally the worst, especially when you're parked up in Cornwall after a late surf. That Proglobe blanket at £19.99 looks proper decent for the price, seems like a bargain. My half-finished interior could definitely do with something like that to keep the warmth in while I save up for more insulation. Might have to grab one of those!
Quick one on that, chilly nights are definitely a concern, I'm already worrying about that for when I eventually get my MWB Transit. That Proglobe blanket at £19.99 sounds decent but I'm cautiously thinking if it'd be enough to make a real difference before the insulation is properly sorted.
Right then, the KingCamp getting 'OWNERS' FAVOURITE' but not your main pick. Bit confusing that, what's the score with that?
This article is so timely! I've literally just picked up my SWB Transit Custom a couple of weeks ago, and it's completely empty in the back right now, just bare metal. I'm already stressing a bit about getting all the right gear when I finally start the build, especially for warmth because i really feel the cold. It's really reassuring to see stuff like the KingCamp blanket with that 'OWNERS' FAVOURITE' badge and a decent price point at £38.99. It makes me feel like I can actually pick something that's tried and tested without spending a fortune. Having proper bedding is definitely high on my list, maybe even before a bed frame haha. You've given me some really good options to look into, so thanks for that!
This guide is really helpful for us, especially heading out to the Lake District so often in our Crafter. I was eyeing up the KingCamp Lightweight one, it's nice to see it flagged as 'OWNERS' FAVOURITE' here, and the £38.99 price seems decent for something reliable. We're always looking for extra layers that don't take up loads of space, so packability is genuinely key.
Good to see you looked at so many reviews, 6,172 is quite a number. Durability is key for us up here, right enough.
Yeah, durability is massive for campervan gear, fair point. We'll add that to the key criteria we look at for blankets.
Just to clarify, the KingCamp with 4.3 ★ got 'OWNERS' FAVOURITE', but the cheaper Proglobe has a 4.8 ★.
Spot on, I was thinking the exact same thing about the Proglobe. When you're fitting out an ex-courier MWB Transit on a budget, you look at every half star and every tenner saved. Hard to argue with a higher rating for less money.
Well now, that Proglobe blanket at £19.99 looks handy. Packability is always key in our bus.
Fair play for crunching all those owner reviews, that's proper graft. I'm still figuring out insulation for my sprinter, so a good blanket is key, especially as winter's coming. But the Campo Libre Wanda at £104.99, blimey, that's a bit steep for a blanket innit? My old army surplus one might not look pretty but it cost a fiver and does the job for now.
