Compact Camper Company, founded by Doug and Alex in 2022, emerged from their personal passion for compact campervan travel. Doug, with a background in the military and as a Prosthetist and Orthotist, applied his practical skills to convert a Vauxhall Agila into "Sheila the Agila" in 2021. This pioneering tiny camper, featuring a double bed, hob, and cooler, became their home for a 30,000-mile, 109-day journey across 41 countries and three continents in 2022, raising money for charities. Alex, an Occupational Therapist, contributes to the business's behind-the-scenes operations, including sewing and interior decor, sharing Doug's enthusiasm for transforming small vehicles into adventure mobiles.

The company offers high-quality campervan conversions, characterized by beautifully designed, functional layouts with a signature minimalist and practical style. Each conversion includes a 6-month conversion warranty, complemented by a third-party mechanical warranty for customer assurance. Beyond full conversions, Compact Camper Company also supports the DIY community through its "BAYS | Self Build Hub." This initiative provides designated workshop space, a wide range of woodworking power and hand tools, and a supportive community environment for individuals designing and building their own vans.
