We ordered our van in June 2021 and due to various world events did not take delivery of it until 2 weeks ago. It’s been a bit of a bumpy journey but Simon has navigated both Danbury and us through this rocky period to owning our dream van. There are a lot of conversion companies out there but we chose Danbury due to their longevity in the business and the fact that when when first contacted them there was no “hard sell” which is a testament to their product and craftsmanship of their vans. You get what you pay for. Not being local wasn’t a problem and when we did finally pick the van up it was exactly what we wanted and we received a meticulous handover and were made to feel valued. We met the team who had converted the van which makes this a very personal experience. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a bespoke, quality conversion. REVIEW EDITED TO ONE STAR……. Is Danbury Vanworx or vice versa? Who knows so this review is going on both their websites. The above review on the Danbury website is from me however since buying the van the service we have received has been sub optimal. Just six months after collecting the van we had to return it due to the roof making a squeaking noise all the time. This issue was traced to something that had been affixed with the wrong glue and had come loose. Roll forward to late 2024 when whilst cleaning the van I noticed that paint had cracked on the roof. The roof is covered under warranty so we contacted Danbury explaining the problem and also the fact that as we live in Kent and they are in Somerset getting the van there was an issue. Matt suggested we take the van to a local VW approved body shop for assessment which after much ringing around we managed to arrange. Their assessment was that water had got under the paint during the preparation phase which had now caused the paint to bubble and crack. They provided a quote for £2000 to respray the whole roof. This was rejected by Danbury who now said that their warranty states the van needed to be brought to them at the owners expense. The van is our only vehicle so we spent £189 on a hire car plus approx £80 in fuel taking the van to Bridgwater, picking up a hire car then driving home (a 400 mile round trip) before doing the whole thing in reverse. So 2 days out of our life, 800 miles driving and nearly £300 out of pocket. To add insult to injury a large stone hit the windscreen on the way home causing damage. I’d like to say Danbury/Vanworx bent over backwards to provide good customer service given the fault was caused by them when the roof was originally sprayed but they haven’t. Even small touches like cleaning the van or perhaps putting some fuel in it weren’t even thought about. In fact Matt handed the keys over with barely a word, there was muddy footprints in the drivers footwell and cab area plus the roof hadn’t been properly secured. In short they couldn’t have cared less. A request that our costs were met either fully or partially have been ignored. A week after having the van back we e-mailed Matt asking for paperwork in relation to the work carried out and again asking that our request for costs be considered again given the circumstances and the fact the fault has occurred due to their poor work. We heard nothing. A follow up e-mail a week later has also been ignored. Do yourself a favour and buy from a conversion company that values their customers after the point of sale and if you can near to where you live. Better still if finances allow buy a VW California, at least there will be a van dealership near you and no compromises on the van build.

We enjoyed excellent service from Simon when ordering our new campervan, then again at handover last year, and again recently when we visited the factory, It's so clear that everyone is very passionate about building such a outstanding product. Simon, and each of the engineers take so much trouble to look after you, it's such good customer service, would not hesitate to recommend this company.
Picked up our Surf van from Danbury a couple of months ago. Really good service and communication from Simon. Very pleased with the van, the new configuration is much better than the earlier model of Surf that we previously owned with more packing and cupboard space, better bed, automatic and both front seats swivel.
We found Danbury in October last year when looking to purchase a new van, they have been a fantastic company from the start. They met us on site over the weekend to show us some of the vans in the work shop, a brilliant insight into how they build them up through the stages, they are so professional and take a great pride in their vans. We made the decision and purchased our silver surf through Danbury We have not been disappointed. Simon and the team have been brilliant Nothing is too much trouble after making last minute changes to the wheels and a few other things they have been so accommodating and easy going, we picked it up in march, the hand over was professional and since then Simon helped us with any questions we may have about the workings of the van and his professional advise has been sought after many times. With covid making it difficult to get some of the usual items they ensured they found products with the same quality that they strive for. The quality of all the fixtures and fittings are excellent, we have used them all summer and everything about the van is perfect, we have only had one small issue with the hob button and when we contacted Simon he booked us in when it was convenient for us and replaced the problem and the guys in the workshop also checked the pop top over and made some adjustments to improve the workings of the side awning. I cannot fault the workmanship that has gone into creating this beautiful van, it’s our pride and joy. I have added a few of our favourite photos from Detail camping uk of The blue thunder’ Thank you Danbury ******
Picked up my van last week. Great service from my first phone call, visited Simon to discuss my requirements and found everyone really helpful. The Van conversion is of the highest quality and the handover was very informative. I would recommend Danbury to anyone looking for a brand new VW.
