Had these guys convert a VW van last year. Not one of my finest decisions ! I had wanted to support a local business but it has cost both time and money. Steve and Vin are nice guys but better suited to wearing cowboy hats! At the most basic level they claim to fully clean the van before and after conversion. In my case not much of this happened, when I took the side step out (which was loose and covered with glue residue) there was a pile of dirt underneath. The outside of the van had multiple areas coated in glue. The swivel seat mechanism was poor (admittedly they replaced it with a reused one they had in the workshop) the units were not positioned as we had discussed. No apology. The rnr bed unusable (after various adjustments they realised it was not workable so refunded me and I installed a RIB bed). Other issues included dangerous wiring, (pinched cable), faulty RCD, leaking windows. Ultimately I lost trust and sought help from a professional installer. An expensive mistake!
I am absolutely delighted with my T6 conversion by Kessel Kampers. The van was transformed from a basic builders van to an awesome camper. Work included cutting out windows, fitting a pop-top roof, solar panels, rock & roll bed, front swivel seat, hob & sink, diesel heater & much more... Right from the start Steve & Vin were so helpful, their knowledge and personal experience of campers was invaluable, helping me make all the right decisions about the spec and suggesting options that would not have occurred to me as a camper newbie! I was kept updated during the build with progress pics and felt fully involved throughout. I have been away in the van a few times now and everything works like a dream. I would not hesitate to recommend Kessel Kampers to anyone - thanks guys!
