I have just completed building a “no-gas” campervan, calling for a substantial electrical installation to run the electric kettle, induction hob and air frier. The design comprised solar panels with MPPT, DC to DC and inverter chargers and a 600 amp-hour lithium power bank. Wisely, my wife suggested getting someone ‘knowledgeable’ to check over my design and installation. The person I selected was John Stuckey of Bear Hug Campers. I was most impressed with the thorough way he checked everything. I expected the process to take minutes - instead it took hours and I got away with absolutely nothing ! I was sent home with a list of safety-related tasks. My second visit involved a further thorough examination before getting John’s final nod of approval. In retrospect I was very pleased indeed that I had followed my wife’s advice. An electrical sign-off is not a legal requirement but nobody wants to risk an electrical fire. I cannot recommend Bear Hug Campers highly enough. You won’t have an easy ride but you will have peace of mind.
