Fantastic Company !!! Just back from a weeks, holiday in there Jerba Campervan, great handover from Dave van was immaculate, well laid out well built, high spec, all staff very knowledgeable and friendly. A great find, definitely recommend and definitely use again 5 stars ✨
We had our VW T5 converted by Jerba many years ago, and the sheer quality and attention to detail of the conversion means that it is like new and functions perfectly. We have had many great adventures in it! Their service is always fantastic. Highly recommended
Great workmanship, VW Approved, robust pop top with easily replaceable canvas. I went with a partial conversion and I’m very happy with the result. Staff spent plenty of time fine tuning my requirements.
After a recommendation from friends we took the plunge in February 2025 and bought a brand new Cromarty camper van from Jerba. It proved to be one of the best decisions we have ever made and we have spent the last year travelling around the UK and Europe. The Van has been very reliable and Jerba have always responded immediately to any questions that we have had. We would recommend Jerba without any reservation.
They primarily focus on the Volkswagen Transporter and Ford Transit Custom. For the VW lineup, the company converts the T6.1, the next-generation T7, and larger Crafter models. This gives buyers excellent choices. On the Ford side, they build on the rugged Transit Custom platform. As a result, you get a solid mix of refined heritage and proven dependability.
Yes, they happily convert customer-owned vehicles. The workshop adapts their expert layouts for VW T5, T6, T6.1, and Crafter models. They also accept the 2024 Ford Transit Custom. In practice, this gives you the flexibility to source a used base vehicle yourself. The team then applies the exact same high-quality interior fit-out used on their factory-fresh builds.
They designed and patented their own unique elevating roof in 2015. Most builders just buy off-the-shelf parts. Instead, the company developed a specific system driven by direct customer feedback and real-world road testing. This means the canvas is completely removable. As a result, fabric repairs or replacements are incredibly simple. The design maximizes internal headroom while keeping the exterior profile exceptionally sleek.

We found Jerba at the NEC Campervan Show (they were the only stand we made a second visit to), in October. In March we went to visit their workshop to look at a couple of second hand Jerba's they were selling on behalf of their customers, unfortunately the layouts weren't suitable for us. However they did have one in mid-build available (based on the new Ford Transit) and their engineer spent a good hour talking us through what he was doing and why, which sold us! We have since had several trips away (including 3 weeks in Europe) very successfully. Yes we had a couple of minor snags (as you'd expect in a custom built vehicle) but Jerba has been very responsive in sorting out fixes, etc. This is why in our view if you're buying a camper van, size, layout, etc. are important but of equal importance is the reputation of the converter and Jerba have lived up to (and exceeded) the reputation we found amongst other Jerba owners.
Every layout undergoes rigorous independent testing. The company holds full European Type Approval, which is the highest standard of vehicle safety testing available. They are also fully NCC Approved. This guarantees that all gas, [campervan electrical systems](/services/electrical-systems), and water installations meet strict legal requirements. For you, this means complete peace of mind. The finished vehicle is certified road-safe and built to exact engineering standards.
Absolutely, they provide comprehensive aftercare for your vehicle. The East Lothian workshop handles full [campervan habitation checks](/services/habitation-checks), routine servicing, and general repairs. A habitation check functions like an MOT for the living area. It is crucial. The technicians thoroughly test the gas systems, electrical circuits, and water seals to ensure everything operates safely. Consequently, regular maintenance keeps the interior systems running smoothly for years of reliable travel.
Yes, the company operates a dedicated rental fleet featuring three distinct layouts. They strongly encourage this try-before-you-buy approach. Spending a few nights inside a layout reveals exactly what works for your specific travel style. It just makes sense. In fact, the founders lived out of vans for months before starting the business. This rental program helps customers confidently finalize their interior choices before committing to a full purchase.
The company has been entirely owned by its staff since 2018. This structure directly impacts the final product. When the people building the vehicle also own the business, attention to detail naturally skyrockets. It creates undeniable pride. This proven model delivers higher levels of customer service and superior build quality. Furthermore, it shows a massive long-term commitment to the local Scottish workforce and ethical business practices.
Yes, they hold prestigious official partnerships with both major manufacturers. Volkswagen recognizes them as a Motorhome Qualified registered vehicle bodybuilder. This is a massive deal. For Ford, the company is currently finalizing approval for the National Converter Programme. Very few UK builders achieve this dual recognition. Ultimately, these factory-backed certifications prove that the engineering giants trust the team to modify their base vehicles safely.
