Last Tuesday we picked up our rental campervan in Belfast near Lenian Place Train Station and received instructions about the use of the campervan from Marty. We would like to let you know we were really happy with the thorough instructions and the time Marty took to answer all our questions. Especially with the new van. One year later, I'm still disgusted. Ten months after the rental (August 2025), I have still not received my $2,000 security deposit. I sent countless emails. Occasionally I received a reply, but only after weeks or even months of reminders. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether. During extremely heavy rain, a rock fell onto the road and struck our camper, damaging the side fender. We reported the incident immediately, but were told the insurance would not cover the damage, despite it being an accident caused by severe weather. When we returned the camper, the damage was inspected and estimated at $800, which we paid. However, the remaining $1,200 of our $2,000 deposit was never refunded. After months of follow-up, the company changed its original assessment and claimed they would refund only $300, without providing any invoices or proof of additional repair costs. Despite repeated requests, we have received no documentation, no further response, and no refund. As a side note, although minor compared to the financial loss, we waited for hours at the airport on the day of pickup due to delays. Communication throughout the rental was slow, confusing, and unprofessional, with responsibility constantly passed between different staff members. Despite remaining polite and patient throughout the entire process, we were ultimately met with silence, lost our $2,000 deposit, and what should have been a great travel experience became a very disappointing one. Taking advantage of customers simply because they live far away is disgraceful. It is an unacceptable way to treat people. And please don't respond with one of your standard apology messages. 1 star is too many! Our vehicle was 'involved in an accident'2 days before our booking, what a surprise. This issue is mentioned in other reviews I have seen for this company, I do not believe they own the newer vans they claim to have, when we booked. The van we got given was 5 years older than the one we had specifically booked. And boy did it have issues. The shower room leaked, every time we were in the shower, all over the main living area, causing us huge issues every day. This resulted in my partner using campsite showers instead (not what you pay for when booking a motorhome with shower included!). It even leaked outside on one occasion. x2 of the blinds did not close, they were broken, one by the table and seating area and the other by the bed, offering us absolutely no privacy. The main door did not open from the outside, so having to come in and out through the main cab doors was very inconvenient. The main door also did not seal properly at the top (you could see daylight through the top when the door was pushed from the inside!). This caused significant noise when driving on the motorway, which was both uncomfortable and concerning. Our emails to the company eventually went unanswered and we are also still waiting for our security deposit to be returned, well beyond the 30 day period they state in their terms and conditions. Their customer service is atrocious and the company is unprofessional and incompetently run. I'm seeking the return of the deposit through our credit card company. However the formal complaint that I sent, which has been signed for and delivered, to ask for compensation (we paid £1000 for the van which had significant faults therefore not fit for purpose) has, surprise surprise gone unanswered. I'm also in contact with the tourist board for Northern Ireland and all the consumer champions at all the major newpapers in the UK. I will shout it from the rooftops how the company treats their customers, and I will not stop until I feel they have responded to me appropriately.
