I wish so much I'd read the reviews before placing an order with this company. Had a test drive last November and was assured, with a little chuckle, that we'd have our vehicle 'well before' our long-drive holiday in June, which was very important to us because of all my daughter's equipment. Once we'd placed the order, we were given an estimated date of August for deluvery. Then in August we were told October, blaming delivery issues from France. We were told, however, that they had the vehicle but wouldn't be starting work on it for weeks. It's now 21st September and we've heard nothing. We contacted them two weeks ago to ask for the vehicle registration number as we're visiting family in the Netherlands over New Year but they apparently couldn't tell us yet as they hadn't even got round to registering it. I am so upset and nervous every time we travel any long distance in our existing, old car. We had the RAC out just yesterday and my daughter is very vulnerable. I agree with the other reviewer who said everything changes once they've got your money. It remains to be seen when this vehicle turns up but the level of service is appalling and we've been Motability customers for twenty years. I regret going with GM Coachworks so much. Even when (if?) we get the vehicle, their service has so far proved so terrible that it really doesn't bode well for repairs etc. Our contact couldn't care less which, for a company that adapts vehicles for severely disabled people, is truly shocking.
Omg my new WAV arrived a few days ago and I’m in love! It’s a Peugeot Boxer with an electric lift, space for two wheelchairs, two seats in the back, and three seats in the front (with added handles to help me get in and out). There are safe spaces for both my assistance dog and pet dog, with safety stalks to clip them in securely, plus manual and electric steps to make things easier for me. It even has rear air con and heating that reaches the foot area, so Fern (my assistance dog) stays super comfy. There are also two rear windows so people in the back don’t feel shut in. The grants team and GM Coachworks were amazing — they sorted everything so I only had to pay £250, which I could manage. They really listened to my situation and did everything they could to help. It’s honestly perfect. The fact I can fit two wheelchairs means my family and I can finally go out together without anyone being excluded. I’m so happy Fern has her own safe, comfy spot too — she’s loving it, and I feel secure knowing she’s properly catered for. It drives beautifully, and it’s not too hard to manoeuvre thanks to the rear camera and parking sensors (though the high-up camera will take a bit of getting used to!). Thanks to GM Coachworks, I only had to wait six months, which is almost unheard of from what i know (my previous smaller WAV took alot longer.) The base van was finished end of April, and they only took a few weeks to complete the conversion after it was delivered by the manufacturer because they knew I was desperate to catch at least the tail end of summer. I’m so grateful as i didn’t want to miss the whole summer due to my failing health. Very happy bunny right now and ready to enjoy whats left of summer 😍

We purchased a second hand WAV that had been converted by GM Coachwork. We reached out with a few questions and have had very helpful, quick and kind responses. We are also very grateful for receiving a Jurni bear for our daughter who wanted to take him on adventures!
Cannot fault GM Coachworks, Will has been an absolute star, extremely pleasent and helpful and kept us well informed. Very quick and speedy delivery of my daughters WAV vehicle
Absolutely useless. Spoke with these people about a product. They advised I could view any time. I called again early on the day I was to attend to advise I was on the way and ETA which they said was fine. After traveling to Newton Abbot I had to wait for my contact. Eventually they come to reception and advise it is not convenient for them and I need to see someone else who is on Holiday. I returned home annoyed after they advised the member of staff I needed would be in touch upon their return and would supply all necessary information and arrange for me to visit AGAIN. Nothing heard after a few days. I called and emailed twice bur they never got back to me. REAL Shambles - Backwards Place. Avoid Avoid. Obviously staff got it easy in cushy jobs and cant be bothered.
