Inspired by friends, we decided to buy our first motorhome and began doing online research and actually viewing various motorhomes (nothing like seeing the real thing). Our initial criteria were that it definitely had to be a 4 berth/4 seat belts and on our second visit to Thompsons we were shown a motorhome that perfectly matched what we said we wanted. So we talked to Derek and paid the deposit. However, when we went home we had a major re-think and next morning went back to ask if we could change our minds and buy a different one!! Derek was very understanding and there was no problem. We took delivery on the agreed date and have already had a few outings and 'sleepovers.' As with any new 'home' there were a couple of minor snags and these have been sorted promptly and efficiently. 'Thompson Leisure' have been a pleasure to deal with and we would highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a motorhome.
We were a little anxious about buying our motor home outside the state because of the issues involved – exchange rates, taxation and the pure logistics of completing the deal. We found Thompson Leisure very efficient and friendly to deal with and we were put at ease about all these issues. They made the whole transaction easy to complete. The staff were friendly and responsive to our requests and queries. We were kept informed at all times about the registration of the vehicle and the additions we required to be installed. We found all the staff at Thompson Leisure considerate, open and helpful. We not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone wishing to purchase a new or pre-owned motor home. Our experience to date of the after sales service is excellent and we consider this to be a very significant issue for anyone thinking of buying a motor home.

Dishonest company with bad customer service. We rented a camper van from them and paid extra for airport pickup, but they used this drop off as a taxi for their employees to get to the airport to go pick up more vehicles in England. One of the guys handed us the keys and said have a nice trip. I asked him for some information about operating the van and he proceeded to tell us a bunch of incorrect information – like where to fill the water, which was actually the shower connection point, and where to fill the gas, which was actually the external gas connection for the grill. We called the office and they said there were YouTube videos on how to operate the van. Well, we didn't have data to watch Youtube videos, and the van depicted in their videos were not our van type. Also, the videos were useless and generic, like this is the stove and this is the water, with no details or do's and don'ts. Mostly useless. When we dropped it off after they said "we would be brought to Belfast." Instead, they just dropped us off at the train station around the corner. Also, the lady who drove us to the train station drove like a maniac, acted like she had better things to do than manage our rental return, and gave us a bunch of information about the train we were trying to catch that later turned out to be incorrect. Horrible service. Use another company.
We have just exchanged our motorhome at Thompson Leisure. It was a good experience. Niall our salesman was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Any queries we had were answered. Joe who gave us the handover was very helpful. I'd certainly recommend this place.
We rented a motorhome from Thompson Leisure for a 2 week road trip around Ireland. Customer service was great and the motorhome was spotless and everything in great working order. Steph was super helpful and quick to respond to any queries in the run up to our holiday and was there at pick up and drop off making everything seamless with the rental. We have recently bought our very 1st motorhome from Thompson Leisure. Such a selection of motorhomes and there is something for everyone. We were looked after very well by Robin in sales who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. No sales pressure just good information and advice.
