Amazing to work with Tim and the team at Transporter Works Garage. We met Tim and Sally at two consecutive camper van shows and were impressed both times by Tim’s knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm for all things VW camper. He gave us the confidence to take the plunge and invest in one of his conversions. The whole process was super simple - right from sourcing the vehicle to customisation. Tim’s communication with regular photos and videos was second to none. It was like we were there building it with him! Delivery took place a couple of months later and we were very excited to collect from his base in Lincoln and try out the van in the Peak District that weekend. Tim’s aftercare and follow up helped us to confidently enjoy the vehicle, and his advice on what to do certainly helped us. Tim went above and beyond to exceed our expectations and I’d have no hesitation in recommending you take the plunge into your VW T6.1 with Tim.
We purchased Luna our Ravenna Blue T6.1 Camper in 2022 and have enjoyed lots of adventures both in UK and Europe since. We took the plunge when we fell in love with the van at a fair, even though we were only meant to go for research with a pact definitely not to buy! We obviously failed and walked away that day a bundle of excitement and it turned out to be one of the best decision we ever made. The 2 reasons that changed are mind: The van was exactly the spec my extensive research had got me to. SWB as we use everyday for school runs so easy to park,highline spec so we get air con, cruise control and other toys, 150 bhp as 110 is too sluggish, T30 load as it will retain good ride but gives extra load capacity for big summer adventures with loads of kit. The conversion was also completed with care to excellent quality with high quality components such as captain chairs, RIB bed, skyline pop top. The second reason for buying that day was Tim, we both got that reassuring feeling which was a huge part of the decision. When researching we had heard so many horror stories, so making this significant investment we were very nervous, so important to feel assured and know we could come back with questions or any problems. Tim is very passionate, genuine and cares about the product he produces. We felt completely assured and our instincts were correct. The process from deposit to drop off was slick, with fantastic communication throughout. Within the first few weeks and months we had lots of questions and Tim was always more than happy to help, always rapidly responsive and every engagement always resulted in a nice friendly chat. We had a few minor snags such as a drawer handle breaking which Tim posted out replacement parts for without hesitation, even over 2 years after purchase and every time we engaged he genuinely was excited to get an update on adventures with Luna such as Lake Annecy last year which we would highly recommend. To summarise, great vans, great people with most amazing after care. Tim is a pleasure to deal with and genuinely excited to hear updates of adventures. Brilliant service from Tim, right from the start all the way through. The personal, bespoke service was exactly what we wanted. The quality of the work and the final result was exceptional. Lovely experience, friendly to deal with and we were always kept up to date with the build.
We bought a van from Tim earlier this year. I can't fault his dedication to detail and his responsiveness. He responded to all of our questions promptly and even took time to research our individual requests. The van is finished to a high standard, we particularly liked the real wood and off grid solar.
