(8,421 reviews)
After reading reviews and speaking with owners, the consensus is that this kit offers excellent value for money and is surprisingly comprehensive for its size. Customers consistently love how much is packed into such a small, lightweight pouch, making it perfect for travel or camping. While its compact size is a huge plus, some note it’s even smaller in person than they expected.

This is a surprisingly well-stocked and compact first aid kit that punches well above its weight. Customers are consistently impressed with how many essentials are packed into such a small pouch, making it perfect for stashing in a van, car, or backpack . Its lightweight, well-organised design makes it an incredibly handy bit of gear for travel and camping adventures .

Our Verdict

Who should buy this?

This is a cracking little kit for campervan owners, weekend campers, and anyone who wants a basic but comprehensive set of supplies in their vehicle or daypack. It covers all the common scrapes and bumps you'll encounter. The fact that there's room to add your own specific items, like special plasters or medication, makes it a great, customisable base kit .

Who should consider alternatives?

If you're heading on a serious, remote expedition, you'll need a more advanced trauma kit. Also, if you're particularly rough on your gear, you might share the concerns of one customer who received a damaged pouch, questioning its long-term durability and waterproof capabilities .

Value for money

For under a tenner, it's hard to argue with the value. It packs in 92 items, including things like an emergency blanket and scissors, which you'd often pay more for separately. As multiple reviewers state, it's simply 'good value for money' . It absolutely earns its small spot in the van.

Our honest take

As a grab-and-go kit for the van's glove box or a kitchen drawer, this is a brilliant piece of kit. It's got everything you need for minor mishaps on the road or at the campsite. While the pouch's durability might be a question mark for some , the contents are solid and well-organised, offering genuine peace of mind for a very small price.

How Well Is It Built?

TL;DR

Built to be compact and lightweight, this kit features a well-organised interior inside a water-resistant pouch. Many customers praise its small size and portability. However, one buyer received a damaged pouch with a hole, raising concerns about its long-term durability and compromising its waterproof claims .

When you live in a van, every inch of space counts, and that's where this kit's design really shines. It’s incredibly compact and lightweight, making it easy to tuck away without being a burden.

Compact & Portable

Customers are frequently surprised at just how small the pouch is, given how much is packed inside . It's described as 'small and lightweight but packed with all the essentials' , which is exactly what you want for a vehicle or a backpack. Its small footprint means it can live in a glove box, under a seat, or in a kitchen drawer without getting in the way.

Interior Organisation & Protection

Inside, the kit is well-organised, so you’re not rummaging around in a panic for a plaster. A standout feature mentioned by one 4-star reviewer is the inner zip-tied bag that holds all the contents, adding an extra layer of protection against moisture . This is a thoughtful touch for damp British camping trips.

Durability Concerns

While the pouch is advertised as waterproof, this is its potential weak spot. One 3-star review reported that their kit arrived with a hole near the zip, immediately compromising its waterproof qualities and raising doubts about how well it would hold up over time . This seems to be an isolated issue in the reviews we analysed, but it's worth keeping in mind.

How Does It Perform?

TL;DR

In practice, this kit performs as a convenient and comprehensive solution for minor first aid needs. Customers find it practical for travel, camping, and keeping in the car, with enough supplies to handle common injuries . Its customisable nature also allows users to add personal medical items {{CITE:1}.}

A first aid kit is only as good as its usefulness when you actually need it. This one proves to be a practical companion for a wide range of situations, from campsites to roadside emergencies.

Real-World Usefulness

This kit contains all the essentials for dealing with the typical cuts, scrapes, and blisters that are part of an active outdoor life. It's not designed for major trauma, but for everyday incidents, it's spot on. One 5-star reviewer even called it a 'total god send' after an unexpected incident on the road, highlighting its value when you least expect it . Another found it 'definitely useful and practical' for travel, having used it on several occasions .

Comprehensive & Customisable

For its size, the selection of 92 items is impressive. It includes plenty of extras you wouldn’t get in a standard kit, like the foil blanket and a good pair of scissors . What we particularly appreciate, and a point echoed by a 5-star reviewer, is that there's still a bit of room inside to customise it . This is perfect for adding personal medications, blister plasters, or specific items like wound sealer paste, turning a good generic kit into a great personal one.

Peace of Mind

Ultimately, the best performance metric for a kit like this is the peace of mind it provides. Knowing you have a well-stocked, organised kit on hand is invaluable. One user, who describes themselves as 'first aid crazy', loves that it consolidates everything they need into one handy pack, replacing the stray plasters usually found in their pockets .

What Features Stand Out?

TL;DR

Standout features include a comprehensive 92-piece supply count, an emergency foil blanket, and functional scissors. The contents are housed in a compact, water-resistant pouch with an additional internal zip bag for extra protection against moisture , making it very practical for outdoor and vehicle use.

While it's a simple product, a few key features make the General Medi Mini First Aid Kit a standout choice at its price point.

Extensive 92-Piece Contents

The sheer number of items is the main draw. Beyond the usual assortment of plasters and antiseptic wipes, it includes essentials that are often missing from smaller kits. This vast selection prompted one 4-star reviewer to call it a 'very comprehensive first aid kit' with 'plenty of extras' .

Emergency Blanket & Scissors

The inclusion of an emergency foil blanket is a massive plus for anyone heading outdoors. It's a critical piece of safety equipment that can be a lifesaver in a cold-weather emergency. The scissors are also functional and useful for cutting bandages or clothing, a step up from kits that omit them to save space.

Dual-Layer Water Resistance

The design incorporates two layers of protection against the elements. The main pouch is made of a water-resistant material, and as multiple reviewers note, the contents are sealed within a separate zip-lock style bag inside {{CITE:7}, {CITE:9}}. This provides extra assurance that your supplies will stay dry, even if the outer bag gets wet – provided it hasn't been damaged, of course .

How Does It Compare to Alternatives?

TL;DR

Compared to basic supermarket first aid kits, this one offers a far more comprehensive range of supplies, including an emergency blanket and scissors, for a similar price. While not as robust as premium brands like Lifesystems, it provides superior value and content for casual and vehicle-based use.

When you put this kit up against the typical first aid kits you'd grab from a supermarket shelf, it really stands out. It offers a much more comprehensive selection of items for a very competitive price. You're not just getting a handful of plasters; you're getting a well-rounded kit with genuinely useful extras like the foil blanket and scissors . While it might not have the bomb-proof construction of a high-end expedition kit from a specialist brand, it hits a sweet spot for value and utility that is perfect for the car, home, or campervan.

Good Quality size and contents with room to customize.

I carry a medipal card because of a number of medical conditions. One of which is my blood not clotting. I have wound sealer paste and special blood stopping plasters, but cannot put them in our work first aid kit. In addition, after a recent scare at work when 111 needed to know my temperature, we realised our work first aid kit did not hold a thermometer (or CPR fask mask had I not come round!)....

AMAZING KIT SAVED US AND NOT IN THE WAY YOU WOULD THINK

This was actually just a total god send and not in the way you would think!! Bought this when we used to go wild camping however we have since purchased a touring caravan. On our drive home from our latest trip disaster struck and our electric hook up cable seperated from the car leading to it dragging on the ground and being damaged.... Luckily the pins were not affected but I was still left in t...

Nifty and comprehensive little first aid pack

This is a very comprehensive first aid kit. Comes with plenty of extras you wouldn’t get in a standard kit. It’s a bit smaller than I expected it to be seeing as the contents are so vast. The pouch is a good quality and the zipper works well. The contents fill it pretty tightly so I imagine if you unpack it all it has to be carefully put back. The price of this kit is very comparable to others a...

Great Qualtity Kit

I love this mini first aid kit. I'm first aid crazy and can never leave the house without some plasters and antiseptic wipes and can always find a stray plaster in my pockets, but this little pack has everything you could need! It's great quality (I think, I haven't needed to use it yet but the scissors work and the tweezers seem good quality), although I doubt I'll use the foil blanket it's helpf...

Comprehensive Cover

Turn yourself into a walking St John's ambulance with this handy kit. Or, if you are in the US, take a few invoices with you and start charging $1000 per plaster. Whatever healthcare model you choose, you really do get a lot of stuff with this bad boy. I'm not sure I am capable of using more than half of the items but then again my life is mundane enough that plasters and antiseptic wipe should co...
