Clarks Vehicle Conversions is a Doncaster-based specialist with over 40 years of experience, offering type-approved vehicle conversions for commercial fleets.
Clarks Vehicle Conversions, a prominent UK-based company, has been expertly transforming vehicles for over 40 years. Founded in June 1985 by Alan Clark, a bench-hand joiner from Doncaster, the business began with ply-lining vehicles from a small workshop. Over the decades, it has grown exponentially, with Alan's son Paul Clark and Brett Harrop joining and eventually becoming Directors. The company's core philosophy, "Converting Vehicles Correctly" (CVC), emphasizes building conversions that are safe, compliant, and built to last, distinguishing them from standard offerings. They were notably the first in their sector to achieve VCA Type Approval, underscoring their commitment to compliance and safety standards.
Operating from a vast 15,000m² Conversion Centre in Doncaster, Clarks Vehicle Conversions boasts a 100+ strong workforce and 24-hour production capabilities, allowing them to handle up to 400 vehicles. Their comprehensive range of services caters primarily to mobile workforces and commercial fleets, including welfare vehicles, crew carriers, racking systems, bunk vans, and lighter conversions like beacons and tow-bars. They also offer a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) option across all conversions, aligning with modern sustainability goals. The company maintains a stock of completed welfare vehicles for immediate deployment, addressing urgent fleet needs.
Clarks is dedicated to quality, safety, and sustainability, holding ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations. They partner with major vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring optimal product integration. Beyond initial conversions, Clarks provides extensive aftersales support, including a 3-year warranty, nationwide assistance, and proactive mobile servicing for electrical, solar, heater, and toilet systems. Their commitment extends to team development through the award-winning Clarks Academy, fostering expertise and ensuring high standards of craftsmanship.

We choose to work with Clarks not only due to the quality of their product but because their expert knowledge of Type Approval gives us peace of mind and makes the process efficient and cost effective.
Good guys doing quality work
Bought an ex welfare van originaly converted by Clarks. I needed some technical support for which I offerred to pay. They could not have been less helpful. Funny thing is Im going to be in the market for some bespoke conversions in the not too distant future ........... Clarks will not be getting the business.
Buy one of Clarks' Network Rail vans. Great for touring bands. 5 or 6 seat crew bus, hot water boiler, microwave, rear cabin heater, external rear load-in light. Superb. Comes with full service history.
Purchased a used Railtrack van which was converted by Clarks. I asked for a wiring diagram of the conversion, first answer was they were not sure that the van had no other mods done once it left them. Fair comment, so I asked that I would still like a copy of wiring diagram anyway. I can read wiring diagrams and I could easily see if there had been any mods. They did not even respond. The fact is I was not spending any money with them so they could not be bothered. How could they know if I had a transport company and were checking them out. Rubbish support guys could not recomend you.
