How CamperBrain Ranks and Verifies Campervan Converters

CamperBrain is an independent directory of UK campervan conversion companies. A conversion is a five-figure decision, so this page sets out exactly how our listings, rankings, prices and reviews are produced, including the parts that are automated.

How converters get listed

Listings are not paid placements. We build the directory by searching for UK businesses that offer campervan conversion work, then confirming each one independently: that it has a real trading presence, that conversion work is a service it actually offers, and that its contact and location details resolve to a genuine workshop or business address.

A converter appears on a town page when its workshop falls within 50km of that town centre. That means the same converter legitimately appears on several nearby town pages, and every distance shown is measured from the town centre to the workshop.

How we rank them

On a location page, converters are ordered by distance from that town, with featured listings shown first and clearly labelled. Nothing in the ordering is for sale beyond that labelled placement. The comparison table can be re-sorted by rating, distance or review count, so you are never stuck with our default view.

A Verified badge means the business itself has confirmed its listing details with us. Its absence means only that we have not had that confirmation — not that anything is wrong with the business.

Where our price figures come from

Price figures come from prices converters publish themselves, collected into the CamperBrain Price Index (last compiled July 2026, from 140 converters that publish a starting price). On any given page we show the most local evidence available and always say which:

  • Local prices when at least three converters near that town publish one.
  • County figures when local coverage is thinner, and only where we have at least five priced converters in that county.
  • UK-wide figures otherwise, labelled as such.

We ignore any advertised figure under £4,000 when talking about full conversions, because at that level it is almost always a kit, a part-conversion or a deposit rather than a finished build. Prices are a guide to what converters advertise, not a quote: your build cost depends on the van, the spec and the finish.

How reviews are collected

We do not host our own review form, so nothing here can be gamed by whoever shouts loudest. Ratings and review counts are the converter's own public customer reviews, most commonly from their Google Business Profile, with the source shown next to each quote.

Quotes shown on a location page are drawn from four- and five-star reviews with enough substance to be useful, spread across several converters rather than stacked on one, and trimmed to length. Near-identical texts are filtered out. Full review histories live on each converter's own profile page.

Where automation is involved

Being straightforward about this: the counts, distances, prices, ratings and review numbers on our pages are computed directly from our database, not written by hand or by a model. Some of the surrounding editorial copy — area introductions and frequently asked questions — is drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication. Company data is gathered by automated collection from public sources and then checked.

Where a number appears on a page, it reflects what was in our database when the page was last built, and pages show that date.

How we make money

Converters can claim their listing and pay for an enhanced profile and for enquiries. That affects the labelled featured placement described above and nothing else: it does not change ratings, review content, price figures or which converters appear on a town page. Some buying guides contain affiliate links to retailers, which never influence the directory.

Corrections

If something about your business is wrong, or you think a converter should not be listed, tell us and we will fix it. Get in touch or claim your listing to edit it directly.
