The company also offers partial conversion services, focusing on elements like sound deadening, insulation, carpet lining, flooring, and crash-tested seating installations to enhance existing vans.
Beyond leisure vehicles, Camper Conversion Specialists extends its bespoke design and craftsmanship to commercial clients, creating custom interiors for businesses that operate from vans. This includes mobile design studios, office and stockroom setups, and mobile barbering units, demonstrating their versatility in crafting functional and visually appealing solutions for diverse professional needs. They also assist customers with van sourcing, helping them find suitable base vehicles for conversion, and occasionally offer ready-made converted vans for sale.

I cannot recommend Camper Conversion specialist enough. We had multiple jobs done, rotating swivelling seats, leisure battery and camping hook up, internal sockets as well as usb c pillar chargers, and some other minor electric repairs. From the beginning you have the impression they know these vans (mine is a T6 caravelle) inside out. Good honest advise rather than money grabbing, which is unusual. Worth the waiting times they sometimes have as clearly word is getting around of how good they are!
We had T5.1 with an aging and scruffy pop top, CCS did a great job in replacing it and upgrading our electrical system for solar power. Would not hestitate to recommend! Top quality and friendly service - many thanks.
I contacted Ian and Luke for some windows for my VW crafter, they were extremely helpful, discussed options, sent picture examples of the different types and also gave advice for preparing my floor for them to install an extra seat in the back for me. Job was booked in and completed to a very high standard, would definitely recommend and will be back for more services in the future!
Ian and Luke have done a great job on my Camper van. They have a really good online booking system for a quote which works well. They were very helpful and took the time to explain everything to me. Very pleased with the work they’ve done and will be using them again.
Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd tackles everything from simple battery swaps to full custom adventure rigs. They operate out of their [Hertfordshire campervan conversion](/campervan-converters-hertfordshire) workshop. This means you can book them for a minor electrical upgrade or hand over an empty Transit for a complete transformation. In practice, the team fits pop-top roofs, installs diesel heaters, and repairs existing setups. Expect them to handle most common base vehicles easily.
The company converts all major panel vans. Volkswagen Transporters dominate the market. However, they also build out Ford Transits, Mercedes Sprinters, and Fiat Ducatos. For most builders, the base vehicle dictates the layout possibilities. As a result, Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd adapts their designs to fit your specific chassis. A long-wheelbase Sprinter offers room for an indoor shower, while a short-wheelbase VW requires a tighter, modular layout.
Yes, they regularly retrofit [campervan diesel heaters](/services/diesel-heaters) into finished builds. Cold weather ruins trips. Therefore, adding a reliable heat source transforms a summer-only rig into a year-round basecamp. The team mounts the unit safely, taps into the main fuel tank, and routes the exhaust outside. Expect a standard installation to cost around £800–£1,200 depending on the heater brand. This keeps the cabin dry and warm during freezing nights.

The alteration work they carried out was excellent. They interpreted my requirements perfectly. They were prompt and efficient. They also found and sorted sort potentially serious electrical issues. Many thanks
They swap old lead-acid batteries for modern lithium setups and troubleshoot wiring issues. Dead power banks ruin off-grid adventures. To fix this, Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd installs high-capacity systems with smart solar chargers. In practice, lithium batteries cost more upfront but last much longer. The technicians also repair existing 12-volt circuits and replace blown fuses. You get reliable power for fridges, lights, and laptops without constant engine idling.
Absolutely, they install [campervan pop-top roofs](/services/pop-top-roofs) to create standing room and extra sleeping space. A fixed metal roof feels cramped. Cutting the ceiling open changes the entire dynamic of the vehicle. Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd reinforces the chassis before fitting the new canvas tent structure. For most builds, adding a pop-top costs between £3,000 and £4,500 fully fitted. This instantly turns a standard two-berth layout into a family-friendly four-berth camper.
You dictate the layout, materials, and equipment. Cookie-cutter designs rarely fit everyone perfectly. This means Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd works directly with you to draft a bespoke floorplan. They source specific timber finishes, select durable upholstery, and map out custom electrical grids. If you want a massive garage space for mountain bikes, they build the bed higher. Every cabinet and drawer gets tailored to your specific travel gear.
You start by contacting their Hertfordshire workshop to discuss your ideas. Vague plans lead to bad builds. Therefore, the team requires a clear understanding of your budget and non-negotiable features. Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd then drafts a detailed proposal outlining parts and labor costs. Once you approve the design, you pay an initial deposit to secure your build slot. They order parts immediately to avoid supply chain delays.
Yes, the company services and repairs third-party builds. Water pumps fail and electrical relays burn out. When things break, Camper Conversion Specialists Ltd diagnoses the fault and replaces the damaged components. They often fix messy wiring jobs done by previous owners. In practice, repairing a badly installed fridge takes more skill than fitting a new one. Their technicians ensure everything runs safely before handing the keys back.
